1. About Mavic Studio

Mavic Studio is a photography and videography company based in Leiderdorp, the Netherlands.

In these terms, ‘we’ means Mavic Studio and ‘you’ means the client(s): the couple or whoever places the order.

2. When these terms apply

These terms apply to all quotes, bookings and assignments of Mavic Studio, including wedding photography, wedding films, drone footage and photo albums.

Arrangements that differ from these terms only apply if we have agreed on them in writing (email or WhatsApp also count).

3. Quote and booking

A quote is valid for 14 days, unless it states otherwise.

Your booking is final once you have confirmed the assignment in writing and we have received the deposit. Only then is your wedding date reserved for you.

We do not hold a date for you until it has been confirmed with a deposit.

4. Prices and payment

All our prices are in euros and include VAT. Travel costs within the Netherlands are included. For weddings abroad, we agree on travel and accommodation costs with you in advance.

When booking, you pay a deposit of €400. This amount is deducted from the total price of the package.

The remaining amount may be paid before or after the wedding, but no later than 14 days after the wedding day.

We deliver the complete set of photos and the wedding film once the full amount has been paid.

If the remaining amount is not paid on time, we will send you a reminder with a new payment term of 14 days. If payment is still not made after that, we may charge the statutory interest and collection costs.

5. Cancellation by you

You can cancel the assignment at any time. Please let us know in writing as soon as possible.

The deposit of €400 is non-refundable if you cancel. As soon as your wedding date is reserved, we keep that day entirely free for you and turn down other couples who want to get married on the same date. After a cancellation, we usually cannot get those bookings back.

If you cancel, you do not have to pay the remaining amount. If you have already paid it, we will refund it.

Because the assignment takes place on a fixed date, the statutory 14-day cooling-off period does not apply.

6. Changing the date

Do you need to change your wedding date? If we are still available on the new date, we will move the assignment free of charge. The deposit then simply remains valid for the new date.

If we are not available on the new date, the change counts as a cancellation (see article 5).

7. If we cannot be there

If we are unable to attend due to illness or another unforeseen situation (force majeure), we will do everything we can to arrange an experienced replacement photographer or videographer of a comparable level.

If that is not possible, we will refund everything you have paid, including the deposit. Any further compensation is excluded.

8. On the wedding day

We agree on the schedule of the day with you in advance. You make sure that the wedding venue and any other locations allow photography and filming.

If the day runs late or the schedule changes, we will adapt as best we can. We cannot guarantee moments that cannot be captured, or captured less well, because of a changed schedule, venue rules, the weather or guests.

We only make drone footage where this is legally permitted and the weather and location allow it safely. If the drone cannot fly for these reasons, this does not entitle you to a discount.

9. Style and editing

You book us for our own style. We choose the moments, select and edit the photos and edit the film at our own discretion, taking your wishes into account of course.

10. Delivery

We deliver the photos and the film digitally, via a download link and/or a digital wedding album, usually within 2 to 4 weeks after the wedding. This is an indication: if it takes a little longer because of a busy period or unforeseen circumstances, we will let you know.

Please download the files once you receive them and make your own backup. We keep a copy for up to 12 months after delivery; after that, we may delete the files.

11. Photo albums

We design a photo album based on your selection or ours. You first receive the design for approval.

Once you approve the design, the album goes into production. Because it is custom-made for you, the order can no longer be cancelled after that.

The prices on our website are an indication; the final price depends on the number of pages.

12. Copyright and use of the images

Mavic Studio retains the copyright on all photos and films.

You may use the images without limitation for private purposes: for example printing them, sharing them with family and friends and posting them on social media. We really appreciate a mention of Mavic Studio or @mavicstudiophotography.

Commercial use, or passing the images on to businesses (such as a wedding venue or supplier) for their own promotion, is only allowed after consulting us.

We would love to show a selection of the images on our website and social media. We only do so with your permission. You can withdraw that permission at any time.

13. Complaints

Not happy with something? Let us know within 14 days of delivery and we will look for a suitable solution together.

14. Liability

We work with professional equipment and handle your images with care. Still, something may unexpectedly go wrong, for example due to a technical failure.

Our liability is in all cases limited to the amount you have paid for the assignment. We are not liable for indirect damage.

This limitation does not apply if the damage was caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of Mavic Studio.

16. Applicable law

All assignments are governed by Dutch law. If we cannot resolve a dispute together, it will be submitted to the competent court.

This English version is a translation. In case of any differences, the Dutch version prevails.
